Building Booms in Philadelphia: Where Synchronized Clocks Fit In
Being a Temple graduate, you could say I have some first-hand exposure to the massive expansion of infrastructure Temple has undergone over the years. However, on top of all the new construction I have witnessed (and dealt with while going to class), Temple University has just recently announced that they will continue on with the expansion of their infrastructure by entering a 10-year venture to build $1.2 billion in new dorms, green space, and more academic buildings.
This announcement from Temple has great implications for the North Philadelphia neighborhoods that surround the campus, which is seemingly one of the core objectives of this venture. More jobs will be available on campus and projects will attract investment from other businesses, which should bring big improvements to the quality of life in this notoriously blighted section of the city. In addition, there are great implications for local businesses in the Philadelphia area, such as the architects, engineers, and systems integrators that will be offering their services for the creation of these new building projects.
When these professionals are hired for the job, they will begin to shop for the various systems to use for their project, such as audio/visual systems, security systems, and time systems. In searching for the right time system, the undisputed best choice for campus expansion is the implementation of a synchronized clock system. Synchronized clocks have the ability to keep extremely accurate time, as well as keep individual buildings throughout the campus in exact time with each other. Additionally, if the right manufacturer is chosen, the master clock that is used to control these synchronized systems has the ability to perform several functions other than just providing accurate time, such as scheduling bells to ring, shutting of various appliances at specified times, and much more.
As Temple begins to break ground on these new projects, engineers, architects, and systems integrators will come together to play an integral part in the creation of these new buildings and help the University to achieve its economic goals. Consequently, the systems that these professionals choose to implement play a very important part in this, which is why architects, engineers, and systems integrators must be mindful in choosing the right manufacturer of these systems.
